90 Degree Operating key for GK Series Safety Switches, Interlocks

This T-Shaped, 90 degree, safety switch key is utilised with the Honeywell GK series (types B,C,D) safety interlocks that are found on safety gates, access doors, hinged panels and other access points to industrial processing machinery installations.

This safety switch key is attached to the moving portion of the gate, guard, or door. When the gate is closed, the key is inserted into the GK safety switch indicating a safe position (gate closed) allowing the machine process to start. The positive opening normally closed contacts of the safety switch are held closed when the key is inserted into the safety switch. When the gate is opened this action removes the key from the switch, opening the normally closed contacts of the switch and interrupting the machine’s control circuit.

GK Series switches are designed with dual-entry positions for the safety key. The key can be inserted from the top or side of the switch which allows more flexibility during installation. Suitable for the hinged or sliding gates, guards, doors used on industrial processing equipment installations, such as robot cells and metal working equipment. GK Series switches have been evaluated for safety functions up to and including a safety integrity level (SIL) of SIL3 when evaluated to the requirements of IEC 61508-2:2010.
