Photoelectric sensors use a monitored beam of light that triggers a process response once the beam is interrupted. The S50 Series Photoelectric sensor from Datasensor provides retro-reflective functionality in a compact tubular plastic M18 body. Easy to set-up via the built-in potentiometer or by using Datasensors patented EASYtouch push button teach system which provides rapid and precise automatic set up of the switching points. Suitable for use in ATEX rated production and automation facilities and for standard applications in numerous industries such as food and beverage.
With high sensitivity and reduced hysteresis this retroflex sensor can detected even a small variation of the light received by the sensor, created by transparent materials such as glass or PET containers and plastic film sheets. Polarising filters help avoid the false switching associated with shiny surfaces. Average operation life is 100,000 hours at 25 degrees C.
